CICON has joined forces with Patrick McDowell for their SS24 collection, embarking on a journey to sustainability. The collaboration goes beyond traditional approaches to circularity with CICON creating innovative Digital Product Passports for the collection’s standout pieces. These passports represent a pioneering effort to minimize the negative impact of garments. They are easily accessible through ‘SCAN TO CARE’ QR code labels beautifully integrated into each garment. When scanned, these passports not only reveal the environmental impact, but also connect each garment with the appropriate care products, cleaners, repair services, rental options, resale platforms, and recycling solutions based on location, materials, and care instructions. The passports are seamlessly linked to the CICON app, empowering the item’s owner to book these services. With CICON’s assistance, the garment’s life cycle impact can be further reduced by 20-40%.

Every garment in this collection underwent meticulous scrutiny of its supply chain’s environmental footprint, employing CICON’s in-house Life Cycle Assessment model. This powerful tool estimated the ecological impact of each garment, offering a comparison to conventional mainstream pieces of similar style and weight. It reveals the remarkable savings achieved by Patrick’s circularity approach, illustrating how it contributes positively to our planet. To provide a comprehensive view of the collection’s environmental impact, CICON compiled data from all garments produced, including carbon emissions and water usage.

Tanya Mulesa, Co-Founder and Managing Director of CICON said:

“We are thrilled to partner with Patrick. CICON’s goal is to help their team understand the environmental impact of their creations way beyond the design and make. Our app, which is linked to the passports, empowers their customers to look after their garments better, easier, and discard them sustainably at the end of their prolonged life. In return, Patrick’s team will gain valuable insights into their garments’ longevity and can reward their customers with complimentary cleaning and repair services.”

Patrick McDowell, Founder and Creative Director of Patrick McDowell said:

“It’s so wonderful to be able to fully understand the impact of our shows through CICON. The transparency of these calculations allows us to work towards a cleaner fashion future for Patrick McDowell and the Fashion industry as a whole, thinking about the full life cycle of a garment.”
